Dragonflies & Damselflies
There are six species of Odonata which have been recorded on the Azores. The Emperor and the Red-veined Darter occur commonly across the archipelago. Two damselfly species occur including the Citrine Forktail which hosts a parthenogenetic population on the Azores composed of all females which are capable of reproduction.
The other two species of Odonata on the Azores list are vagrants which have only been recorded once. For the full list see here.
